Pieter Peers is an associate professor at the College of William & Mary. His research focuses on appearance acquisition and modeling. His past research has investigated both active and passive illumination methods. Recently he has used deep learning to aid in recovering the appearance of objects using lightweight acquisition under uncontrolled and/or lightly controlled lighting.
