Biography
Michio Okada is Professor of Interaction and Communication Design Lab (ICD-LAB), Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Toyohashi University of Technology. He obtained a Ph. D. in Computer Science at Tohoku University. From 1987 to 2005, he was a senior researcher at NTT Basic Research Labs and ATR International. His research interests include human-robot interaction, social robotics, and cognitive science. He and his research group (ICD-LAB) have created a series of "weak robots" that serve their purpose while successfully eliciting help from others, including the Sociable Trash Box, iBones, Talking-Bones and PoKeBo Cube.
