Vidya Narayanan is a senior applied scientist at Amazon where she works on virtual try-on of apparel, garment customization and fit perception. Prior to that she received her PhD in computer science in 2021 from Carnegie Mellon University, advised by Jim McCann at the Textiles lab at CMU. Her PhD thesis describes systems for enabling custom, on-demand, 3D fabrication with industrial knitting machines. She is broadly interested in fabrication (especially textiles), computational textiles processing, graphics and visualization.
