Maxine D. Brown is a Senior Research Scientist at the Electronic Visualization Laboratory (EVL) at University of Illinois Chicago since her retirement in 2020; prior to that, she was an EVL Associate Director and then Director. She has served as SIGGRAPH conference Local Arrangements co-chair (1977), Exhibits co-chair (1979), Electronic Theater chair (1984), Conference chair (1992), VROOM co-chair (1994), and member of the Conference Planning Committee (1989-1994). She was elected as the SIGGRAPH organization’s Secretary (1981-85) and Vice Chair for Operations (1985-87). Brown is the recipient of the 1998 ACM SIGGRAPH Outstanding Service Award.
