Evolutionary Piecewise Developable Approximations

DescriptionWe propose a method to compute high-quality piecewise developable approximations for triangular meshes and use an evolutionary genetic algorithm to optimize the combinatorial and discontinuous fitness function. Besides, we creatively use conformal mapping techniques to efficiently control the mapping distortion at a relatively low level to achieve high shape similarity.
