Since 2020, Dr. Mary Hall has been director of the University of Utah’s Kahlert School of Computing. She also holds degrees from USC, Stanford and Rice Universities. She was the 2010 recipient of the ACM Distinguished Scientist award, and became an IEEE Fellow in 2020. In 2023, Dr. Hall organized an IEEE event commemorating the 50th anniversary of the University of Utah's School of Computing, whose pioneering students and faculty developed the algorithms that gave birth to many CGI-based industries.
