William J. Joel has been teaching Computer Science and related disciplines since 1983. In 1987, Dr. Joel conceived a Symposium on Computer Graphics Education at Marist College, Poughkeepsie, New York. Currently he is both a Professor Emeritus of Computer Science at Western Connecticut State University as well as the Director of Computer Graphics & Animation Research Projects. He has also been a longtime member of the SIGGRAPH Education Committee.
