Biography
With a PhD in computer graphics, Brian worked as a post-doc at the Royal College of Art, where he helped build a computer animation system used for the film “Alien.” He continued with the GraphicsLand project at the University of Calgary as faculty, 1981. Work focused on developing algorithms for implicit modeling and animation. in 1986, with his brother, Geoff Wyvill, he pioneered the first iso-surface polygonizer, followed by the implicit texturing, and the BlobTree. Brian was ACM SIGGRAPH vice-president 2012-2018 when he retired to write. He has one novel published and one to be launched in 2023.
