Brandie Nonnecke is the Founding Director of the CITRIS Policy Lab at UC Berkeley and co-director of the Berkeley Center for Law and Technology where she leads projects on AI, Platforms, and Society. She is also Associate Research Professor at the Goldman School of Public Policy where she directs the Tech Policy Initiative. Her work addresses AI governance and policy frameworks, and most importantly, how to engage scientists, engineers and citizens in the development of AI to foster economic and social development. She will spark discussions on the role of engineers, citizens, policy makers and artists towards responsible, effective AI.
