Pete Segal
Biography
Pete Segal has been in CG since the dark ages (1979) in the graphics lab at RPI. He's worked in many CG fields at IBM Research, AT&T Bell Labs, AT&T Pixel Machines, Spotlight Graphics, Bentley Systems, Luxology and The Foundry. He spent his early career developing low-level graphics, then advanced to photorealistic rendering. At Pixel Machines he introduced the first commercial ray tracing library in 1987, and demonstrated the first interactive ray tracer at SIGGRAPH '88. Pete has spent the remainder of his career helping to bring photorealistic rendering to the masses and in many capacities for SIGGRAPH.
