Maria Rita Nogueira, born in Coimbra, did her BA and MA in Design and Multimedia, and the Ph.D. in Contemporary Art (Interactive Art focus) at the University of Coimbra. She is a researcher at the Institute for Systems and Robotics, University of Coimbra. Besides her academic journey, Maria Rita is a contemporary dancer. In her research she explores the symbiosis between art, design and technology. The main focus encompass movement-based interaction, creative coding and visual art with a view to democratize art and involve the audience to an integral part of each artistic experience.
