Valerie Bentivegna is a science-doer, -writer, and -comedian based in Seattle, Washington. She has a Ph.D. in Life Sciences from the University of Dundee, where she also discovered using comedy as a means to communicate science. Currently, she works as a Research Scientist and Lab Manager in the Akamastu Lab at the University of Washington during the day. At other times, you can find her producing and performing at comedy shows or writing science-related content for a variety of outlets. She is the founder of "Geeky Comedy Seattle,” which organizes open mics, comedy workshops, and shows in Seattle and beyond.
