Takayuki Iwamoto is a senior engineer at Woven by Toyota, seconded from Toyota Motor Corporation. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Tokyo in 2006. After working as a research associate at the University of Tokyo, he worked for Canon Inc. from 2008 to 2016 as a computer vision and machine learning researcher. He was a visiting industrial scholar at Carnegie Mellon University Robotics Institute from 2012 to 2014. After joining Toyota Motor Corporation in 2017, he has been working on autonomous vehicle projects, especially on safety system designs for fully autonomous vehicles.
