Michael Wahrman's career started at the RAND Corporation. He then worked at Robert Abel and wrote their 3D rendering system, which became the prototype of the Wavefront renderer. He consulted for Symbolics and co-founded deGraf/Wahrman, an important early production company that innovated performance animation, including the Mike the Talking Head piece shown here. His clients included the Directors Guild, many ride-films, IBM Research, Viacom New Media, the American Museum of Natural History, Warner Bros Interactive, Technicolor, and New York University. He earned a Scitech Award from the Motion Picture Academy for his work on the Wavefront Visualizer.
