Biography
Sandy Ressler started doing CGI in the mid-70's at Rutgers University as a Visual Arts major. His student team created a 3D vector graphics system using APL. After his MFA, Ressler worked for Bell Labs on an experimental real time CGI machine, and produced this variety of demos. He's the co-author of the classic "Life with UNIX," he worked at NIST for nearly 40 years. "Da Movies," created in 16mm at Rutgers in 1978, features a computer generated movie theater where "adult activity" onscreen makes a virtual audience member walk out. This is likely the first adult-themed CGI content 🙂
