Biography
Henry Fuchs is the Federico Gil Distinguished Professor of Computer Science and Adjunct Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the UNC-Chapel Hill. He heads UNC’s Graphics and Virtual Reality Research Group. Henry received a PhD in 1975 from the University of Utah and has been active in 3D computer graphics and computer vision. He has contributed rendering algorithms, high performance graphics hardware (Pixel-Planes), office of the future, virtual and augmented reality, telepresence, and medical applications. He is an NAE member, an AAAS fellow, an ACM fellow, an IEEE life fellow, and recipient of the ACM SIGGRAPH Coons Award.
