Eric Patterson
Biography
Eric Patterson, Ph.D. is Director of the Digital Production Arts program and Associate Professor in the Visual Computing Division of Clemson University’s School of Computing. His interests include research in computer graphics, vision, machine learning, and multi-media signal processing along with animation, film, game, and visual-effects production. He was formerly Professor in the Computer Science Department as well as Digital Arts Coordinator at University of North Carolina Wilmington where he helped create an interdisciplinary Digital Arts degree program, graduate programs in Computer Science and Data Science, the Film Studies Department, and the Face Aging Lab and I3S Research Institute. Along with his academic work, Eric has also kept active in industry with consulting for Digieffects and other companies, a faculty fellowship at Sony Pictures Imageworks, a research and development residency with the Technical Art team at Red Storm Ubisoft, and professional film and photography projects.
