Biography
Melissa is a Data Scientist at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, focusing mainly on computer vision. She has two master’s degrees – a recent one in computer science from Western Washington University and a prior one in information science from Drexel University. She especially loves incorporating new ideas from diverse fields and connecting them back to data science. Her research interests (so far) include synthetic data for computer vision, data visualization, low-data domains and few-shot learning, and temporal analysis of vision datasets. She lives in Seattle and ironically, doesn’t drink coffee.
