Fostering Technical Talent - Pixar Undergraduate Program (PUP)
DescriptionThe title of Technical Director (TD) is ubiquitous but for many studios, this can refer to literally dozens of specialized skill sets. Pixar Animation Studios' Internship Program has long served as a strategic talent pipeline, nurturing and harnessing the creative and technical abilities of emerging talent. In this session, we'll discuss the Pixar Undergraduate Program (PUP), a 12-week, hands-on summer course that has established itself as a training ground for those interested in pursuing a career as a Technical Director. Educators attending this session will walk away with a better understanding of how Pixar intentionally creates an environment geared toward helping students to better define their unique career path as a TD.
