Altering Perceived Softness of Real Rigid Objects by Restricting Fingerpad Deformation
DescriptionCan we alter the perceived softness of everyday objects without instrumenting the objects themselves? In this talk, we will introduce a haptic device that induces softness illusion by restricting the user’s fingerpad deformation. We see our device augmenting haptic props for Virtual Reality and adding interactivity to everyday appliances.
