SessionBlasts From the Past
DescriptionThis Tachi Laboratory at The University of Tokyo has continuously presented 40 Emerging Technologies projects in SIGGRAPH and SIGGRAPH Asia from 1997 to 2014. The philosophy of this pioneering lab has been carried on in many subsequent laboratories. Prof. Hideyuki Ando and Prof. Masahiko Inami, who are alumni of Tachi Lab., are each leading their own research laboratories. This exhibit showcase will display the work they have done at Tachi Lab., as well as the work they have undertaken independently, which includes the following: Object-oriented displays (1998 etech) known as “Optical Camouflage”, Smart Finger (2000 etech), Shaking The World (2005 etech), MetaLimbs (2017 etech).
