Toward Optimized VR/AR Ergonomics: Modeling and Predicting User Neck Muscle Contraction
DescriptionErgonomic efficiency is essential to the mass adoption of VR/AR experiences. Leveraging electromyography devices, we developed a computational model to predict the neck muscular workload associated with VR/AR experiences before their deployment and demonstrated its potential in reducing users' perceived neck discomfort by optimally planning the layout of virtual content.
