27. Camouflage via Coevolution of Predator and Prey
DescriptionNatural camouflage arises from competition between predator and prey. To survive, predators must find prey, and prey must avoid being found. This 2D “artificial life” simulation models that adversarial relationship: prey evolve camouflage patterns while predators evolve visual detectors for prey. The environment is provided by photographs of natural scenes.
