Sanjay Bakshi joined Pixar Animation Studios in 2002 with an extensive background in computer graphics. His skills were first applied within the studio’s Tools department, where he worked on Disney and Pixar’s Academy Award®-winning films: “Finding Nemo,” “The Incredibles,” and “Cars,” as a Tools Developer.

Bakshi previously worked as the Groom Supervisor on the Academy Award®-winning feature “Ratatouille,” where he helped create fur software for the film’s characters, and supervised the character grooming team. Bakshi was the Supervising Technical Director on “Monsters University,” “The Good Dinosaur,” and “Onward.” Most recently, he served as the VFX Supervisor on Disney and Pixar’s upcoming feature film “Elemental,” set to release on June 16, 2023.

Bakshi’s strong interest in computer graphics stemmed from programming graphic algorithms on an Apple2. He received Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Computer Graphics in Canada and currently resides in Piedmont, CA.
