Biography
Takayuki Hoshi received a Ph.D (Information Science and Technology) from the University of Tokyo in 2008. After working as JSPS Research Fellowship for Young Scientists DC2/PD, assistant professor at Kumamoto University, Nagoya Institute of Technology, and the University of Tokyo, he founded Pixie Dust Technologies, Inc. in 2017. He developed the scannable prototype of airborne ultrasound tactile display in 2008 and demonstrated the 3D acoustic manipulation in 2013. He was awarded the Significant Contribution to Science and Technology in 2014 by NISTEP (MEXT, Japan), in recognition of his achievements in the broad exploration of applications of the focused ultrasound technology.
