Blasts from the Past: Highlights from the Best of ETech from Past SIGGRAPH Conferences.
DescriptionSince the early days of SIGGRAPH, the conference has showcased the best in emerging and interactive technology. This event will present works from the Blasts from the Past exhibit, a showcase of some of the leading E-Tech interactive experiences from the last twenty years.
Presenters from the Blasts from the Past exhibit will give short talks describing the technology on the show floor, the research behind it, and the works that been developed since the demonstration was first shown. This will give SIGGRAPH attendees a unique opportunity to learn about leading emerging technology from the past, and celebrate SIGGRAPH's unique history.
Speakers will include:
Hideyuki Ando - Shaking the World (2006)
Kouta Minamizawa - Gravity Grabber (2007)
Takayuki Hoshi - Airborne Ultrasound Tactile Display (2008)
Takuji Narumi - Meta Cookie (2010) and Magic Pot (2012)
